Thanks to Totalife, the Kenya Red Cross has its first mobile clinic. An epochal turning point for health care in Kenya, which has now another ally to bring support and assistance. Created in collaboration with the K.R.C.S., the Red Cross of Kenya (home of Malindi), the mobile clinic, in fact, will represent a particularly effective tool to provide care and medical assistance within a radius of 400 kilometers. This, in short, means that thousands of people from entire villages, unable to reach the hospitals of Malindi and Nairobi, will have home medical care. The idea of the mobile clinic was born last year during a meeting with the managers of Kenyan Red Cross and began to take shape especially after seeing K.R.C.S. and its volunteers during the "Anti Jigger Campaign", the campaign linked to the treatment of Tungiasis started in 2015 in collaboration with the Karibuni Onlus association, which aims at the healing of more than 6000 people, for the most part children and the prevention of this pathology: tungiasis is, in fact, an infestation caused by the penetration into the skin of the Tunga Penetrans flea.
The project of the mobile clinic, already existing and already set up, which will be officially presented on January 6, 2018 in Malindi, was made possible only thanks to the support of Totalife, with a donation of 70,000 euros. A historical result for the timing and the value of the operation. It is a fact that most of the deaths or the worsening of the health conditions of the Kenyan population is due to the impossibility of reaching the hospital garrisons. But Totalife's commitment does not stop there. Strengthened by the privileged relationship with the Red Cross of Kenya, synonymous with guarantee and reliability, TotaLife will engage in training and continuous updating of the mobile clinic: soon an ultrasound and the equipment for rapid analysis to bring prevention, assistance and care to three hundred and sixty degrees to people who have difficulty moving to receive medical treatment. And again: a pool of doctors from Italy will leave for Kenya to organize specialist campaigns always in collaboration with the Red Cross of Kenya, which, with the support of the Ministry of Health, will organize courses for doctors, specialized nurses, technicians laboratory and non-graduate ultrasounders.
An important result for Totalife Onlus that sees the realization of a project in which the association has always strongly believed. "The creation of the mobile clinic is a great result for us. In Kenya it is essential to bring aid and help to the most remote areas of population centers - declares Roberto Godas, president of the association -. Thanks to the reliability and support of the Red Cross of Kenya and the solidarity of our members and all those who have collaborated on our fundraisers, we have finally succeeded in giving life to the mobile clinic a source of pride as the first created throughout the Kenya. The clinic, which thanks to the support of the Red Cross and the Ministry of Health, can boast the professionalism of specialized figures, can bring relief to all those - and there are so many - that in the various villages of Kenya, they are unable to reach the hospital garrisons. First of all, we could continue our fight against tungiasis which - to date - has treated thousands of people. Our continuous commitment alongside those who increasingly need us. " A commitment, that of the TotaLife Association, which proceeds in the name of solidarity and under the banner of concrete projects. Like the ones already realized: the medical health care facility created in the Malindi Children of Raising Sun, a multi-purpose facility that hosts and manages an orphanage with about 100 children providing medical care and education. Or the operation to the little Marian, affected by a congenital heart disease and saved thanks to the operation financed by TotaLife and performed by a team of pediatric cardiac surgeons present in Mombasa.
